Dental X-rays

Dental X-rays are an important part of your preventive care. X-rays allow Dr. Benson to view the inside of your teeth and the bones beneath the gums. Hidden structures such as impacted teeth, growths, or wisdom teeth can also be seen using dental X-rays. These images will also help Dr. Benson track the progress of dental decay, gum disease, and other conditions.

Below are a few of the reasons Dr. Benson may recommend an X-ray:

  • To find cavities
  • To look at the roots of your teeth
  • To assess the tissues surrounding the teeth
  • To track the development of periodontal disease
  • To make sure your teeth remain healthy (preventive care)

At Benson Dental, we use dental X-rays to catch signs of dental decay and other problems before they get out of control. Dental X-rays use very low levels of radiation, and you can rest assured that our practice takes all the necessary precautions to ensure your safety. We only use the most advanced and reliable technology at our practice, from the treatment planning stages all the way through completion of your procedure.

X-Rays are quick and painless, and they take just a few minutes to complete. Using X-rays to catch problems, such as cavities, at early stages can truly save your teeth! If you have any questions about dental X-rays, feel free to contact our office in Sioux Falls for more information.
